My New UX/UI Journey

I am currently on a journey to learn and develop my UX/UI Design skills, aiming to fuse my creative background with functionality in the digital realm. My passion lies in human-centred research and design, striving to create intuitive and aesthetically pleasing experiences that resonate deeply with users.

My goal is to design interfaces that not only look beautiful but also seamlessly guide users through their digital journey. Through meticulous research and empathetic understanding, I ensure that every design decision prioritises the needs and desires of the user. By combining artistic sensibility with user-focused functionality. I am dedicated to crafting digital experiences that are both engaging and effective.

More About My Artistic Practice

Fourth Year Exhibition Installation

I have always had a love for art and creativity, which motivated me to pursue a fine arts degree. Throughout my four years at the University of Pretoria, I was free to express myself and explore various skills and mediums. This journey not only honed my technical abilities but also taught me to work independently, think creatively, and push boundaries. My education emphasised critical thinking, research, and writing skills, all which complimented my artistic development.

In my final year I created a body of work for a group exhibition, focusing on mixed media sculptures and installations. My artistic practice often revolves around themes of the body, embodiment, and the discomfort one can feel within their own body.

During this year-long project, I turned inward for inspiration, examining my own relationship with my body and the world around me. This introspective process heightened my awareness of my thoughts and emotions, fostering a deeper connection with myself. I believe that building a relationship with oneself is invaluable. Feeling comfortable in one’s body, trusting one’s abilities, and following one’s intuition are crucial elements of personal growth and artistic expression.
